Just under an acre of lawn slopes gently down to the riverside, from where there is direct gated access onto the foreshore. Around the fringes of the garden there are large trees and shrubs interspersed with winding pathways, providing an exciting yet safe playground for young children.

Those who are looking for water based activities will be spoilt for choice; there is canoeing, sailing, rowing, water skiing, wakeboarding, windsurfing and swimming right at the bottom of the garden. For those who enjoy fishing, there is ample opportunity to cast a line in the hope of catching something for the evening meal. Land based activities are also well catered for, with miles of walks in the surrounding rolling countryside and along the estuary right on the doorstep. Cyclists can enjoy long rides on small country lanes, or for those who like their cycling more rugged and challenging, there are many and varied green lanes available to explore around the immediate area.

A variety of coastal beaches are within 10 minutes’ drive, and the wild open spaces of Dartmoor can be reached easily within 30 minutes. For shopping and cultural excursions, Exeter is an easy 30-minute drive, and there are plenty of smaller towns and villages closer by.

This house is ideal for families of all ages who are holidaying together. All of the rooms are on one level, with no stairs or steps within the house. There is a very attractive internal courtyard, where children can happily play whilst parents sit and enjoy the extensive view. Furthermore, the acre of enclosed garden - most of which is a gently sloping lawn but there are wooded edges with winding paths, perfect for expeditions - is a paradise for little and big children alike. Access to the river and the river beach is through a lockable gate so parents can relax in the knowledge that little ones can be easily entertained and allowed to run around without leaving the grounds of the property. The arrangement of all the rooms on one level with no steps within the house makes this house an ideal choice for guests with limited mobility.

Up to two dogs are very welcome to stay at Clare Park. The grounds and the surrounding countryside and beaches are ideal places for them to accompany their owners on scenic walks, and there is the added attraction of the secure grounds with access to the river where dogs can swim.
