Riverside Accommodation near Shaldon
Gated access onto the river from the garden allows launching of canoes, windsurfers, rowing boats and other small water craft and thus water sports can be enjoyed directly from the property, tides permitting. There is a slipway about 200m upriver for launching larger boats, in addition to a number of slipways in Shaldon and Teignmouth. Direct passage to the sea is possible from the property, tides permitting. It is worth noting that jet skis are not permitted on the River Teign. A mooring on the river can be arranged with prior notice, but it should be noted that the river outside Clare Park is tidal and access is restricted to approximately three hours either side of high tide.
Holiday accommodation perfect for walking
The huge expanse of Dartmoor is a 30 minute drive away, where the beautiful and varied scenery and moorland affords any number of walking possibilities, from whole day expeditions to short walks incorporating a stop at one of the plentiful pubs on the moor. The Templar Way (an 18 mile waymarked route from Haytor on Dartmoor to Teignmouth) passes along the foreshore below the house, which is located almost at the end of the route.
Cycling holiday in Devon
There are plenty of off road cycling tracks on Dartmoor to keep even the fittest and keenest cyclist occupied, together with miles of road cycling with plenty of testing hills if required. Haldon Forest Park is about 20 minutes drive, where there are many and varied cycle tracks suitable for the smallest members of the family up to those who want to test their balance and agility on the single track courses through the forest.
